Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is a fundamental part of the students learning at Rookwood School.  Within the subject pupils study various aspects relating to themselves and others.  PSHE focuses on three different areas of study, these are: Personal Wellbeing, Economic Wellbeing and Financial Capability and Citizenship.  The aim of PSHE is to give our students the opportunity to become successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress and achieve.  We also strive to give our students the confidence to live healthy, safe and fulfilling lives and provide opportunities for them to make a positive contribution to society.

Curriculum at Key Stages 3 & 4

Pupils undertake PSHE lessons in Key Stage 3 during one timetabled period.  At Key Stage 4 they undertake focus days, which highlight one of the key topics from the syllabus. The curriculum focuses on challenging issues and allows the pupils the opportunity for thought, reflection and how these events affect them and their lives.  Lessons are delivered by PSHE teachers, with the support of specialist agencies.
